The Medicine of Breathing…

Breath deeply into the bottom of your lungs, fill your lungs like a balloon from the bottom all the way to the top, hold for a moment.

Gently release the breath as naturally as the tide moving back out into the ocean. Feel your belly become loose and free. Your body relaxes into the exhalation, hold for a moment with no air and then repeat.

This the ‘soft belly breath’

It triggers the vagus nerve, the communication from the digestive system to the heart to the brain to evoke the parasympathetic nervous system. Our rest and digest.
